I’ll admit, I’m a Summer gal. Give me frilly dresses, big hats, basket bags, and I’m in my element. Cold weather dressing can get boring when you’re wearing the same combo of jeans, jumpers, and a big coat day in day out. And when the temperatures drop so low that you’re layering thermals under your trousers, and need 5 layers of tops to stay warm, well fashion just flies right out the window.

However the transitional in-between time when it’s getting nippy enough to pop on a jacket, and switch up your denim minis for jeans, can be quite exciting style-wise. The new season trends are phasing their way into the high street (and into my wardrobe, the embroidered Mango loafers MUST be mine), but you don’t quite have to give up the fun mini-trends of Summer (my basket bag is going NOWHERE. We’re basically bff’s now). I’ll be keeping the statement earrings, star prints, and silky camis that became my Summer staples, but mixing them with A/W pieces to keep outfits contemporary (and warm!).
ANKLE BOOT EDIT
Equally positive is the fact that it’s time to bring out those old faithful pieces that look fab every A/W season – black chelsea boots, leather jacket, a cosy knit or chunky scarf. Plus, hot chocolate is happening, and that is never a bad thing. Oh, and mince pies! Okay, I guess I could get down with this whole Winter thing…
